Director Johann J.(Hans) Hof

Background
Having an advanced degree in the field of power and heat engineering Hans has worked in the energy sector for more than 33 years: in the natural gas sector as project manager, in the electricity and heat sector as senior power engineer, in the energy distribution sector (gas, electricity, district heating, cogeneration and new energy conversion technologies) as research and development program manager and as policy maker. He was involved in the feasibility phase, the engineering phase and the commissioning of several district heating projects and other energy-conversion technology projects in The Netherlands and abroad.

Policy officer
He was since 1989 policy officer at EnergieNed, the association of all energy companies in The Netherlands (gas, electricity and district heating). He was responsible for district heating and district cooling and for combined heat and power. He is responsible for the coordination of all policy aspects dealing with district heating and combined heat and power in the Netherlands.

Active in Policy Working Group and Committees
Hans has worked in several steering committees and working groups for the development, the implementation and monitoring of the Environmental Policy Plan of the Energy Distribution Sector. He has been and still is member of several national and international working groups and committees in the field of New Energy Conversion Techniques, Combined Heat & Power, District Heating and District Cooling. At present he is Secretary of the Dutch CHP Policy Group, chairman of the Ecology Group of Euro Heat & Power and member of the CHP Quality Group of Eurelectric. In The Netherlands he is the architect of the CHP certification system in this country.

Founder and Direcor of Europe’s Energy Point
Hans founded Europe’s Energy Point on 1 November 2003 and he is General Manager of this Company. Member of
